Although 184 riders started the 2026 Tour de France in Barcelona on July 4, it is inevitable that not all of them will reach Paris.

The 2026 Tour de France covers 3,333 kilometres and 54,450 metres of total elevation gain across 21 stages from Barcelona to Paris. Over the course of the race, the peloton will tackle seven flat stages built for sprinters and four hilly stages suited to puncheurs and breakaway specialists. The race's toughest challenges lie in its eight mountain stages, which feature five gruelling summit finishes. These decisive climbs include Gavarnie-Gèdre, Plateau de Solaison, Orcières-Merlette, and a historic double ascent of the legendary Alpe d’Huez.

Making it to the finish of a Grand Tour is an achievement in its own right. Illness, crashes, injuries, fatigue and time cuts can all end a rider’s race early, and every abandon is a reminder of how unforgiving the Tour can be.

Below is a running list of every rider who withdraws from the 2026 Tour de France as the race unfolds.
