Tour de France Today: All you need to know about stage 7
Mathieu van der Poel is back in yellow, but only by second over Tadej Pogacar, ahead of stage 7, which finishes up the magical Mûr de Bretagne. Catch up with anything you might have missed and get all the details of what's coming up today in Domestique's daily guide.

Tour de France stage 7 profile
The iconic Mûr de Bretagne returns to the Tour for the first time since a very special day in 2021, where Mathieu van der Poel took his maiden grand tour stage win and went into the yellow jersey.
The climb will be the key feature of the stage, with the peloton set to tackle it twice in the final 20 kilometres, including the finish, just as they did back in 2021. Van der Poel attacked both times up the climb in 2021, but that shouldn’t be necessary for the stage win this year.
The climb stands at 2 kilometres at 6.9%, but has much steeper pitches, meaning that timing and intelligence will be just as important as strength in order to take the stage win.

What to expect?
With Mathieu van der Poel back in yellow, but only by a second, it is very possible that the yellow jersey will switch shoulders again. Although Van der Poel was victorious on the last ascent of the Mûr de Bretagne, his efforts on stage 6 will have cost him a lot of matches, and Tadej Pogačar and Jonas Vingegaard have already shown that they are willing to be active on the hilly stages.
