Uijtdebroeks suffers early setback on Vuelta a España stage 2
The Belgian was pictured on the ground following the incident, though he was able to remount and continue.

Cian Uijtdebroeks (Movistar) suffered an early setback at the Vuelta a España on Sunday, just over 60km into stage 2 to Manosque.
“Cian Uijtdebroeks has suffered a fall during the 2nd stage of La Vuelta,” confirmed Movistar. “He has gotten back on the bike and, at this moment, is trying to return to the peloton.”
The Belgian came into the Vuelta after a difficult few months. Movistar had named him alongside Enric Mas as one of the team's key riders for the race, but his preparation was disrupted by the illness that forced him to abandon the Tour de France.
Uijtdebroeks was forced to abandon the Tour through illness after suffering a bacterial stomach infection and later revealed that he had experienced a fever of 40°C during the race.
His recovery took longer than expected, with the Belgian undergoing repeated medical checks before he was able to return to harder training.
As a result, he made the Vuelta his next target, although he admitted beforehand that he was unsure how his body would respond to the demands of a three-week race.
In the opening time trial, he finished 123rd, 54 seconds behind stage winner Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates-XRG).
