Video: Spectacular crash in Vuelta a Asturias descent ends without injury

A heavy crash marked the third stage of the Vuelta a Asturias on Saturday, when Carlos García went down while leading on a technical descent.

Group 224 3

The Burgos Burpellet BH rider had attacked from the early break and was alone at the front when he misjudged a sharp right hand bend despite clear warnings from a race official. Braking late and positioned too far inside, he lost control and crashed into roadside barriers.

Remarkably, García escaped without injury, got back on his bike almost immediately and continued at the front of the race, eventually finishing twelfth.
