Visma | Lease a Bike hit by bike theft at Vuelta a España
The day after Jonas Vingegaard celebrated stage victory and the red jersey on stage 2 of the Vuelta a España, Visma | Lease a Bike awoke to a setback on Monday, as several bikes were stolen overnight from outside the team hotel.

Visma | Lease a Bike reported on social media on Monday morning that their mechanics’ truck was broken into overnight, with several bikes taken in the theft. “Our mechanics are working tirelessly to make sure the team is fully ready for stage three,” the Dutch squad added in its statement.
According to the team, the police have opened an investigation into the incident.
The theft follows earlier incidents this year involving Cofidis, when bikes were stolen from both the men’s and women’s teams.
Both La Gazzetta dello Sportand Tuttobicihave reported that Visma had 18 bikes stolen in the incident. Tuttobici has estimated that the stolen bikes have a value of €250,000.
Both AS and Het Laatste Nieuws reported on Monday morning that three of the stolen Visma bikes have since been recovered.
Movistar and Lidl-Trek, who were staying at the same hotel on the outskirts of Turin, did not have any equipment stolen.
