Biography of pro cyclist Emilien Jeannière
Emilien Jeannière is a French all-round fast man whose strength on hilly finishes sets him apart from pure sprinters. Equally at home contesting a flat bunch kick or surviving a punchy classics finale, he gives TotalEnergies a dangerous option across a wide range of races.
His career has been built on consistency, with a steady accumulation of wins and podiums that mark him out as one of the French peloton's most dependable opportunists.
Early life and rise in French cycling
Jeannière was born in Saint-Paul-en-Pareds, in the Vendée region of western France, an area with a deep cycling heritage. He came up through the French amateur ranks before turning professional, joining the TotalEnergies set-up where he has spent the core of his career.
Within the French ProTeam he developed quickly into a trusted finisher, given the freedom to chase results on terrain that suited his blend of speed and power.
Wins and big-race podiums
Jeannière's standout victory came at the Tour de Kyushu in 2024, a result that showcased his ability to win against an international field. He has also taken multiple stage wins at the Boucles de la Mayenne, a race well suited to his attributes.
Just as telling is his run of near-misses against the very best. In 2025 he finished second at the Bretagne Classic, second at the Grand Prix de Wallonie and second at the Tour de Vendée, and added runner-up stage finishes at Paris-Nice. Those results against WorldTour fields confirm that his level extends well beyond the ProTeam calendar.
Rider profile: strengths, style, and characteristics
Jeannière is best described as a puncheur-sprinter. He has the speed to contest bunch sprints but truly excels when the finish is uphill or the race has been hard enough to thin the field. That makes him especially dangerous in semi-classics and rolling stage finishes, where his combination of endurance and a fast kick comes into its own. He is an aggressive, opportunistic racer who reads finales well.
Personal life
Jeannière hails from the Vendée, a region synonymous with French cycling, and has remained closely associated with the French racing scene throughout his career. Off the bike he keeps a low public profile, channelling his focus into his role as a finisher for TotalEnergies.
