Orluis Aular is one of the most successful cyclists Venezuela has produced, a punchy, opportunistic racer who can win from a sprint, a reduced group or a breakaway. After years of dominating at Pro Continental level, he earned his move to the sport's top tier.
His 2026 step up to Movistar carried real significance: he became the first rider from Venezuela to reach the WorldTour in more than ten years, carrying the hopes of his nation's cycling community.
Early life and rise
Aular was born in Nirgua, Venezuela, and came up through the strong South American racing scene before moving to Europe. He spent his formative professional years with Caja Rural–Seguros RGA, where he became one of the most prolific winners outside the WorldTour.
