Remco Evenepoel delivered a historic ride in Kigali, destroying the field to win his third consecutive World Championship time trial. On the hilly 40.6km course, he overtook Tadej Pogačar and stopped the clock at 40:47, averaging an incredible 48.9 km/h. The Belgian claimed his hat-trick ahead of Jay Vine and Ilan Van Wilder.
