Groupama-FDJ United 2026 Tour de France: French Champion Grégoire looks to make his mark
Thibaut Pinot's memorable victory on the Col du Tourmalet in 2019 remains Groupama-FDJ United's last Tour stage win. The French team have a mixture of experience and youthful exuberance in their ranks, including the in-form Romain Grégoire, who could break their drought. Here's a look at who will feature for Groupama-FDJ United in the 2026 Tour de France.

2025 Tour de France:
- 2025 Tour stage wins: 0
- 2025 Best GC finish: 16th - Guillaume Martin-Guyonnet
2026 Objectives:
The team will be looking to win their first Tour stage since 2019, and with the newly crowned French Champion leading the line, Groupama-FDJ United have reason to feel cautiously optimistic.
Guillaume Martin-Guyonnet is also a mainstay in the upper echelons of the GC at the Tour, though often on the cusp of the top 10 rather than in it, giving him freedom to still get into breakaways.

🇫🇷 Romain Grégoire (23): The talented 23-year-old Frenchman feels destined to win at least one stage of the Tour de France in his career, and the fact that he has just been crowned the French Champion adds to this feeling. Punchy, explosive and with good tactical nous, Grégoire arrives in Barcelona with good form, having won a stage of the Tour de Suisse for the second consecutive season. Twelve months ago, Grégoire was in the mix among elite company in the finale of the punchy stages in the opening week, illustrating his talent.
🇫🇷 Clément Berthet (28): A natural climber, Clément Berthet returns to the Tour for the second year running. Finishing eighteenth at the Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and sixth at the national road race championships in recent weeks suggest Berthet could be a rider to watch in the mountains.
🇫🇷 Clément Braz Afonso (26): The 26-year-old Frenchman stood out in his Grand Tour debut at the Vuelta last season, featuring in multiple breakaways and finishing fifth on a stage. The season has seen Braz Afonso continue to be bold, going on the attack at Tirreno-Adriatico, Itzulia Basque Country and the Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, earning the mountains classification at the latter for his efforts.
🇮🇹 Lorenzo Germani (24): The only non-French rider in the team is 24-year-old Lorenzo Germani. The Italian has raced the Giro and Vuelta twice each, but his fifth three-week race marks his Tour de France debut. Germani has been a mainstay in WorldTour week-long stage races for the French team this season, and featured in multiple breakaways at the Tour de Romandie.
🇫🇷 Guillaume Martin Guyonnet (33): The Frenchman has been super consistent over the years in terms of his final standing. Barring 2022, when he abandoned, Martin has finished from eighth to sixteenth from 2019 to 2025, and there's no reason to suggest he won't do the same in 2026, having recently finished tenth at the Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.
🇫🇷 Clément Russo (31): Russo is a savvy and versatile rider, and most likely to be the Groupama-FDJ United rider featuring in the sprint stages. Last year, Russo finished sixth on the opening stage and added another top ten stage finish in the final week. In his fifth Tour de France, we can expect more of the same from the 31-year-old.
🇫🇷 Ewen Costiou (23): A rising star in the team, Ewen Costiou harbours plenty of talent and showcased it in his Tour debut last season in multiple breakaways. This season, Costiou tasted the winning feeling when he claimed the final stage and GC of the Étoile de Bessèges in February.
🇫🇷 Quentin Pacher (34): Quentin Pacher is a punchy rider who can often be found in breakaways. The Frenchman has plenty of experience with eight Grand Tours and five laps of France already logged, and in most editions, he has scored top ten stage finishes.
