Quality over quantity: EF Education-EasyPost 2025 verdict
Grand Tour stage wins, yellow jersey stint and cobbled success. Here's a look at the 2025 season of EF Education-EasyPost

Expectations
After finishing 12th in the UCI rankings with 24 victories, EF Education-EasyPost were busy at the end of 2024 with eight riders coming in and eight leaving. Among those to depart were Alberto Bettiol and the retiring Rigoberto Urán, leaving the team needing to replace two of their most valuable riders from previous years.
Richard Carapaz was the star in 2024, winning a Tour stage and the mountains classification, before finishing 4th at the Vuelta. However, the 2019 Giro d’Italia winner had yet to finish on the podium at a Grand Tour with the team, and this would have been an ambition for 2025.
Ben Healy illustrated his potential with a stage win at the Giro d’Italia in 2023, but saw a dip in results, though not necessarily performance, in 2024. If the Irishman could unlock the right formula, he would serve as a major asset for the team and their ambitions in 2025, also.
The verdict
Wins: 10
UCI Ranking: 12
The Verdict: 6.5/10
On paper, 10 victories and 12th again in the UCI rankings would seem like a middle-of-the-road season for EF Education-EasyPost. However, the statistics don’t tell the full story of what was a good season for the team.
2025 didn’t see a high volume of wins for EF, 10 compared to 24 from 2024. Crucially, though, the victories this year were of a higher level, with more Grand Tour stage wins and WorldTour successes.
Neilson Powless, in beating the Visma | Lease a Bike trio of Wout van Aert, Tiesj Benoot and Matteo Jorgenson at Dwars door Vlaanderen, provided one of the most talked about moments of the season and a first cobbled classic victory for the team since Alberto Bettiol won the Tour of Flanders in 2019.
Three Grand Tour stage wins are also the team’s joint highest tally since 2021, and Richard Carapaz’s third place at the Giro d’Italia was the first Grand Tour podium finish since Hugh Carthy finished third at the Vuelta in 2020.
Ben Healy found the golden formula in 2025, firmly establishing himself as one of the strongest riders in the peloton and enjoyed a standout Tour de France among many other races.
Marijn van den Berg and Madis Mihkels were solid points scorers due to their sprinting abilities and have room to grow in the years to come.

Most valuable rider - Ben Healy
Ben Healy has been a star rider for EF Education-EasyPost for multiple seasons now, but 2025 was the Irishman’s best yet, by some distance.
In the spring, Healy claimed his first Monument podium, finishing third at Liège-Bastogne-Liége behind solo winner Tadej Pogačar and Giulio Ciccone, who outsprinted him to second.
This wasn’t the only success of the spring for Healy, with other notable performances including fourth at Strade Bianche, and a stage win at Itzulia Basque Country with a mesmerising 56km solo effort.
However, the Tour de France was, without doubt, the highlight of Ben Healy’s career so far. Healy became the fourth Irish rider and first since Stephen Roche in 1987 to wear the yellow jersey at the Tour de France after claiming victory on stage 6.
Impressively, Healy battled on to stay within the top 10, ending 9th overall, his best Grand Tour position by some distance, rounding out an exceptional three weeks in France.
Rounding out the season, Healy took the bronze medal at the elite men’s road race World Championships in Kigali, Rwanda, a fitting end to a standout season
Most successful race - Tour de France
It’s been a successful season for the American team on the Grand Tour front, at both the Giro d’Italia and Tour de France.
The prestige of the Tour de France and the honour that comes with the yellow jersey is significant, and it was a race to remember for the American team. Not only was Healy’s yellow jersey stint and stage win impressive, but his 9th place finish was the team’s highest since Rigoberto Uran came 8th in 2020.
Richard Carapaz had an excellent Giro d’Italia and was in the hunt for the pink jersey after taking a stage win in the second week. Kasper Asgreen’s stage victory a few days later was also a major boost.
However, Carapaz had to settle for third after a tactical standoff with Isaac del Toro on stage 20 saw Simon Yates ride away to victory and the pink jersey, and the outcome would have left plenty in the team with a bitter taste after a superb three weeks.
Best transfer - Kasper Asgreen
Kasper Asgreen may not have had a season like the one in 2021 that saw him win the Tour of Flanders, but the Dane settled into life with his new team well after seven seasons at Soudal-QuickStep. It was a difficult start to the season for the Dane in the Classics, where he would have hoped to shine.
Asgreen bounced back in a big way, however, by taking a stage win at the Giro d’Italia. He also played an important role for the team with his experience and strength at both the Giro and Tour, two of the most successful races of the season for EF Education-EasyPost.
Alex Baudin also stood out for his combative performances in his debut season with the team and could be one to watch in 2026.
