The 2026 Giro d’Italia heads from Chieti to Fermo on Saturday for stage 8, a 156km hilly test that comes immediately after the race’s first major summit finish on Blockhaus. The route initially follows the Adriatic coastline before turning inland for a series of sharp climbs in the final 60km, including Montefiore dell’Aso, Monterubbiano and Capodarco ahead of the uphill finish in Fermo. The decisive moment is expected to come on the steep run into Fermo, where gradients ramp up brutally on narrow paved streets, with sections touching 22% before the final drag to the line. 8 is scheduled to roll out at 13:15 CET, with the finish expected around 17:15 local time.
