Itzulia Basque Country 2026 - Stage 1 time trial start times
The 2026 edition of the Itzulia Basque Country gets underway on Monday with a demanding individual time trial that is set to shape the first general classification standings of the week.

Stage 1 features a 13.8km test against the clock, but unlike a traditional flat opener, this course offers little respite. With almost no flat sections and a decisive final 500 metre ramp averaging 9%, the stage is expected to favour explosive all rounders over pure time trial specialists.
The opening rider, Georg Zimmermann, rolls down the ramp at 14:30 (CET), with start times running throughout the afternoon until Mikel Landa, who closes proceedings at 17:23.
Among the main contenders, Primož Roglič starts early at 14:46 and could set the first serious benchmark. Paul Seixas follows at 15:29 CET, before the GC battle builds towards the finale, where Juan Ayuso and Isaac del Toro headline the final wave of contenders.
