Men's World Championship ITT 2026: Start times and order with Ganna and Evenepoel last off
The men’s World Championship time trial in Montréal takes place on Sunday, September 20, on a 39.2-kilometre course through the Canadian city. The route packs in 220 metres of climbing and takes the riders through Old Montréal, along the St. Lawrence River and onto the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve before returning to the city centre. Here’s the start order, from the opening rider to those expected to battle for the rainbow jersey.

The race opens at 13:00 (EDT) / 19:00 (CEST), with Gil Gomes of Guinea Bissau the first of 61 riders to take on the course through Montréal. The early starters include riders from across the 40 nations represented, before the spotlight shifts towards the leading contenders in the second half of the schedule.
Callum Thornley rolls down the ramp at 14:09 (EDT), with fellow Brit Ethan Hayter starting at 14:27 (EDT). Mathias Vacek gets underway at 14:10:30 (EDT), before recent Vuelta time trial winner Stefan Küng starts at 14:24 (EDT). The biggest focus, however, will be on Filippo Ganna at 14:28:30 (EDT) and defending champion Remco Evenepoel at 14:30 (EDT).
Ganna looks the leading threat to Evenepoel on Montréal’s fast course, while the Belgian is chasing an unprecedented fourth consecutive elite men’s world time trial title.
