Red Bull strengthen sprint department with Arne Marit signing
Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe have completed their rider recruitment ahead of the 2026 season with the arrival of the Belgian sprinter from Intermarché-Wanty.

Arne Marit has joined Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe, filling the final position on the German team's 30-rider squad for 2026.
The 26-year-old sprinter joins from Intermarché-Wanty after three seasons, where he came close to Grand Tour success with fourth-place finishes at both the 2023 Giro d'Italia and 2024 Vuelta a España, before improving to third on stage 8 of this year's Spanish Grand Tour. Marit's departure from Intermarché-Wanty comes ahead of that team's merger with Lotto for the 2026 season.
Marit becomes the third Belgian rider to sign with the German outfit for next season, alongside Classics specialist Gianni Vermeersch and team leader Remco Evenepoel. He'll strengthen a sprint department that already includes compatriot and former Tour de France stage winner Jordi Meeus.
"Arne is a rider who can make an immediate impact in a variety of race situations," said Red Bull Chief of Sports Zak Dempster in an statement on Thursday.
"His natural speed, race instinct, and reliability across a full season make him a valuable addition to our sprint and classics group. Importantly, he is also a rider with clear development potential – and we are confident we can take the next step together. We’re very happy to welcome him to the team."
The timing of his signing coincides perfectly with the start of the squad's first training camp for the new season, giving him an immediate opportunity to integrate with his new teammates.
"I remember talking to my girlfriend about what my dream team would be, and my answer was Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe," said Marit. "For me, this is truly a dream coming true. The team has an outstanding performance staff, and I'm confident I can take the next step in my career here."
The Belgian is particularly enthusiastic about developing his sprinting abilities alongside the team's established fast men, such as Dutch champion Danny van Poppel.
"I'm especially looking forward to learning from Danny van Poppel when it comes to sprinting – one of my strengths, alongside the classics. I can't wait for the team camp to meet everyone and get this new adventure started."
