Result E3 Saxo Classic 2026: Van der Poel seals victory with a 42 km solo in a tight finish

After launching a trademark long range attack, Van der Poel appeared to be cruising towards another dominant solo victory in the E3 Saxo Classic, but the race took a dramatic turn in the closing kilometres. A hard chasing group rapidly reduced his lead of over a minute to just a handful of seconds, setting up a tense run in to the line. In the end, hesitation behind proved decisive, allowing the Dutchman to hold on and secure his third consecutive win in Harelbeke.
