Start times & order Tour de France 2026 Stage 1: UAE last off in Barcelona team time trial

Stage 1 brings an immediate test for Tadej Pogačar, Jonas Vingegaard, Remco Evenepoel and the other Tour contenders. Below, you can find the full start order and times.

Unlike a traditional team time trial, every rider will receive an individual time for the general classification. The stage result will be based on the first rider from each team to cross the line. That gives the main contenders freedom to push on during the final climbs if teammates begin to fade.

The opening section follows fast roads along Barcelona’s seafront and through the centre of the city. The course becomes more selective around Montjuïc, beginning with the one kilometre Côte de Montjuïc at an average gradient of 5.2 per cent. After a 1.4 kilometre descent, the riders face the Côte du Stade Olympique, 900 metres at 6.5 per cent, before the finish at the Olympic Stadium.

Teams will start at five minute intervals. Caja Rural Seguros RGA will be the first squad down the ramp at 17:05 local time, while the main favourites have been placed at the end of the order.

Remco Evenepoel and Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe start at 18:45, followed by Jonas Vingegaard’s Team Visma | Lease a Bike at 18:50. Defending champion Tadej Pogačar and UAE Team Emirates-XRG are the final team to begin at 18:55.

The last team is expected to reach the finish at approximately 19:16.
