UAE issue updates on Soler and Vine following Giro crash
Both Marc Soler and Jay Vine were forced to abandon the race on the second stage after being involved in a mass crash with 23km remaining. Team leader Adam Yates was also forced to abandon overnight.

UAE Team Emirates-XRG have issued medical updates on Marc Soler and Jay Vine after both riders were unable to finish stage 2 of the Giro d'Italia in Bulgaria, with both suffering fractures.
"Unfortunately we were badly affected by the crash on stage 2 yesterday. Jay Vine suffered a concussion and an elbow fracture. Marc Soler has a pelvic fracture. At this stage, neither should require surgery,” said Dr. Adrian Rotunno (Medical Director) in an official statement.
Another blow for the team came overnight, with Adam Yates' withdrawal from the race being confirmed, despite the British rider finishing the stage.
Ådne Holter (Uno-X Mobility), Andrea Vendrame (Jayco AlUla) and Santiago Buitrago (Bahrain-Victorious) are among the other riders who were forced to abandon the race following the crash.
UAE have five riders remaining ahead of the start of stage 3: Igor Arrieta, Mikkel Bjerg, Jan Christen, Jhonatan Narváez and António Morgado.
Christen is the highest placed rider in the GC, sitting 6th and 0:10 behind race leader and stage 2 winner Guillermo Thomas Silva (XDS Astana). The third and final stage in Bulgaria is a 175.2km run-in to the capital, Sofia.
Result: Giro d'Italia stage 2
