Jonas Vingegaard (Visma | Lease a Bike) defend the red jersey but it wasn't without a fight after a 1v1 duel in the final 4 kilometres with João Almeida (UAE Team Emirates - XRG) and the Portuguese had the Dane against the ropes.

Vingegaard now holds a 46 second advantage over Almeida in second with Tom Pidcock (Q36.5) remaining in third, +02:18 off of Vingegaard.

Jai Hindley (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe) was the biggest gainer on the day in the general classification standings, moving up four places from 8th to 4th, sitting +03:00 off of the race lead.
