Route
The Amstel Gold Race 2026 covers 257.2 km from Maastricht to Valkenburg and features 33 short, steep climbs. The first 170 km include 20 climbs that gradually wear riders down on constantly rolling terrain.
The race intensifies with 84 km remaining at the first ascent of the Cauberg, a key tactical point. A decisive sequence follows with Gulperberg, Kruisberg, Eyserbosweg, Fromberg and Keutenberg in quick succession, often splitting the peloton. The finale consists of a 19.9 km circuit including two more Cauberg ascents, with the last crest just 1.7 km before the finish, favouring explosive puncheurs.
