2026 Amstel Gold Race start list: Evenepoel, Skjelmose and Jorgenson headline the field
The 2026 edition of the Amstel Gold Race takes place on Sunday, April 19. Defending champion Mattias Skjelmose (Lidl-Trek) returns to defend his title, while Remco Evenepoel (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe), who finished third in 2025, is also set to compete. The start list further features Matteo Jorgenson (Visma | Lease a Bike), Ben Healy (EF Education-EasyPost) and Romain Grégoire (Groupama-FDJ United).

A total of 25 teams feature on the provisional start list, each fielding seven riders, bringing the peloton to 175 riders.
All 18 UCI WorldTeams are set to start, alongside seven UCI ProTeams: Caja Rural Seguros RGA, Cofidis, Pinarello-Q36.5, Team Flanders Baloise, TotalEnergies, Tudor Pro Cycling Team and Unibet Tietema Rockets.
Defending champion Mattias Skjelmose returns to lead Lidl-Trek and is expected to face strong competition from Remco Evenepoel of Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe, after both riders featured in the three man sprint with Tadej Pogačar for victory in 2025.
Other contenders for the win include Matteo Jorgenson of Visma | Lease a Bike, Romain Grégoire of Groupama-FDJ United, Kévin Vauquelin of Ineos Grenadiers and Ben Healy of EF Education-EasyPost.
