Five talents to watch at the Brabantse Pijl 2026
The Brabantse Pijl is a race where new talent consistently rises to the surface, which is exactly what makes it so compelling. In recent years, it has repeatedly provided a platform for emerging riders to announce themselves. Think of Joe Blackmore in both 2024 and 2025, Ben Healy in 2023, Magnus Sheffield in 2022, Ide Schelling and Andreas Leknessund in 2021, and Andrea Bagioli alongside Alessandro Covi in 2020. Which riders could these be this year?

1. Andrea Raccagni Noviero
Andrea Raccagni Noviero is a rider emerging from the development system of Soudal Quick-Step, where he spent his early Under 23 years before stepping up to the WorldTour last season. He has already shown that he belongs at this level, picking up encouraging results in smaller races.
Raccagni Noviero is notably versatile. He can climb, sprint, handle punchy terrain and perform in time trials. His profile, however, appears particularly suited to one day racing. While his current focus is on the Ardennes, races like the Brabantse Pijl may ultimately prove a better fit, much like riders who have shifted their focus after similar experiences.
His season was briefly disrupted by illness in February, prompting a reset with a dedicated training block. That approach paid off with a strong return at the Volta a Catalunya, followed by an altitude camp. With that preparation behind him, he arrives well positioned for this next phase.
2. Senna Remijn
Senna Remijn stands out as one of the most intriguing prospects in the peloton. As a junior, he was among the best in the world across both road racing and cyclocross. While his off road results have dipped slightly in recent seasons, his development on the road has been impressive.
Last year, he achieved the rare feat of finishing on the podium in the Under 23 editions of both Paris-Roubaix and Liège-Bastogne-Liège within the span of a week. Later in the season, he confirmed his potential with a third place on a decisive stage of the Tour de Luxembourg, outperforming several established names.
The Brabantse Pijl suits his attributes perfectly. Its punchy climbs, technical sections and uphill finish align with his strengths. With strong recent form in Catalunya and the NXT Classic, he looks ready to take the next step.
3. Anders Foldager
Anders Foldager is another young rider with clear potential, now in his third professional season with Team Jayco AlUla. His debut in the Vuelta a España last year marked an important milestone in his development.
Consistency remains a challenge, which is not unusual at this stage of a rider’s career. Periods of illness have also interrupted his momentum. However, his recent performance at the NXT Classic indicated that his form is returning.
Foldager combines a strong engine with a fast sprint, a valuable combination for a race like the Brabantse Pijl, where the ability to survive repeated efforts and still finish strongly is often decisive.
4. Kasper Borremans
Kasper Borremans is widely regarded as a major talent, even if he remains somewhat under the radar. Like many young riders, he is still searching for consistency, but his ceiling is evident.
On a good day, Borremans has already shown he can compete at a high level and deliver standout performances. His all round skill set makes him particularly suited to races of this nature, where adaptability is crucial.
The Brabantse Pijl could provide the ideal setting for him to begin translating potential into results at the professional level.
5. Mattia Agostinacchio
Mattia Agostinacchio is among the most exciting young names to watch. Despite being only in his first year at Under 23 level, he has already secured a WorldTour contract, effectively bypassing the traditional development pathway.
His talent suggests that an early impact would not come as a surprise. The nature of the Brabantse Pijl, with its technical demands and repeated accelerations, suits him well. His background in cyclocross further strengthens his profile for this type of racing.
While expectations should remain measured, the ingredients are there for a breakout performance.
