LIVE: Tour de France 2026 Stage 5: First sprint showdown of the Tour

Tour de France - Stage 5

The fifth stage of the 2026 Tour de France offers the sprinters their first opportunity on Wednesday, with the 158.3km flat stage from Lannemezan to Pau. The peloton heads west across the Hautes-Pyrénées through the Gers valley to Pau, which hosts the Tour de France finish for the 64th time. The route rolls gently with three short late-stage kickers in the final 30km - the Côte de Casteide-Doat (1.5km at 5.1%), Côte de Flancart (1km at 6.4%) and Côte de Baleix (1.3km at 7%), before 26km of mostly flat road to the finish. Tim Merlier (Soudal Quick-Step), Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Premier Tech), Olav Kooij (Decathlon CMA CGM) and Biniam Girmay (NSN) are among the fast finishers likely to fight for the win. Stage 5 is set to get underway at 14:15 CEST and will finish at around 17:45 CEST. Follow it live on Domestique.
