Tour de France Stage 9 schedule: Key times for today’s stage to Ussel
The final stage before the first rest day takes the Tour de France from Malemort to Ussel on a constantly rolling route through Corrèze. Stage 9 has been shortened by around 30 kilometres after the department was placed on red alert because of the heatwave, but the four classified climbs remain in the race.

The revised stage covers 154.6 kilometres and includes 3,300 metres of climbing. There is no major mountain or summit finish, but the repeated climbs, narrow roads and extreme heat could make it a difficult day to control.
The breakaway is expected to have a strong chance of reaching Ussel.

When should you watch Tour de France Stage 9?
Tune in from around 16:00 CEST to see the main part of the battle for the stage victory.
The riders are expected to reach the Côte de la Croix du Pey between 16:08 and 16:21. From there, just over 56 kilometres remain, with the short Mont Bessou climb and more undulating roads before the finish in Ussel.
For viewers who only want to watch the final hour, coverage from 16:30 CEST should include Mont Bessou, the final attacks and the run towards the finish. The winner is expected to arrive between 17:22 and 17:41.
What is the hardest climb on Stage 9?
The Suc au May is the hardest classified climb of the stage. The second category ascent is 3.8 kilometres long at an average gradient of 7.7 per cent, with the summit coming 80.5 kilometres from the finish.
Its position means it is unlikely to decide the stage on its own. It could still split the breakaway and remove riders who have struggled in the heat or on the earlier rolling terrain.
The Côte de la Croix du Pey follows later in the stage. It is longer at 4.8 kilometres, but slightly less steep at 6 per cent. Mont Bessou is the final classified climb, measuring only 900 metres at 7.3 per cent with 24.5 kilometres remaining.
