LIVE: Giro d’Italia 2026 Stage 1: Which sprinter will take pink?

The first Grand Tour of the 2026 men's cycling season is upon us with the 2026 Giro d'Italia. The opening stages of the Italian Grand Tour will take place in Bulgaria, with stage 1 commencing from Nessebar and finishing in Burgas. It is all set to be a bunch sprint in the fight for the first pink jersey of the race, with just 889 metres of elevation across the 146.88 kilometres. The route includes a fourth category climb, but the long and wide run in to Burgas should favour the sprinters and their lead out trains. Stage 1 is set to get underway at 14:00 CET and will finish at around 17:16 CET.
