Stage 1
Aalborg > Aalborg (197.2 km)

29.07-02.08
Wout van Aert won the opening stage of the Tour of Denmark on his return to racing, despite being caught behind a mass crash with 75 kilometres remaining. After the groups came back together, a six rider move went clear in the final 10 kilometres, with Christophe Laporte among the attackers. Van Aert bridged across on the final climb, then held off Lukas Kubis in the sprint to take both the stage victory and the overall race lead.
