Ingebrigtsen ends Van Aert’s winning streak at the Tour of Denmark
Storm Ingebrigtsen (Uno-X Mobility) claimed his second professional victory at the Tour of Denmark, attacking from the breakaway in the final kilometres and holding off the peloton in Faaborg.

The 21-year-old Norwegian crossed the line alone, while Gabriele Bessega (Polti VisitMalta) stayed clear to take second. Wout van Aert (Visma | Lease a Bike), who had won the opening three stages, finished 12th.
The 172 kilometre stage from Rudkøbing began at a high pace. Thirteen riders formed the first major breakaway, including Ashlin Barry (Visma | Lease a Bike), Niklas Larsen (Unibet Rose Rockets) and Tim Torn Teutenberg (Lidl-Trek).
Several teams had missed the move, however, and Alpecin-Premier Tech, NSN Cycling and Flanders-Baloise combined to bring the group back after around 40 kilometres.
A new seven rider breakaway formed shortly afterwards. Ingebrigtsen was joined by Bessega, Axel Källberg (Lucky Sport Cycling Team), Sébastien Grignard (Lotto-Intermarché), Christopher Juul-Jensen (Danish national team), Stian Rosenlund and Francesco Carollo (Swatt Club).
Alpecin-Premier Tech and Flanders-Baloise controlled the peloton alongside Van Aert’s Visma team, but the leaders continued to hold an advantage of around two minutes as the race approached the finishing circuits in Faaborg.
The pace increased over the rolling terrain and the peloton began to split, yet the breakaway entered the final ten kilometres with close to a minute in hand.
Källberg was the most active rider at the front. The Finnish champion attacked several times and briefly moved clear on his own, but the other escapees managed to bring him back.
Behind, Tomáš Kopecký tried to accelerate from the reduced peloton, while Van Aert and Christophe Laporte (Visma | Lease a Bike) remained involved in the chase. Despite the increasing pace, the gap was still not closed with three kilometres remaining.
Ingebrigtsen then made the decisive move. He attacked his remaining companions and quickly opened a gap of around ten seconds as the peloton closed in behind.
The Norwegian carried his advantage into the final kilometre and held on through the streets of Faaborg, ending Van Aert’s run of three consecutive stage victories.
