Vuelta a España 2025: Standings after stage 8 - Træen navigates sprint stage

Torstein Træen (Bahrain-Victorious) safely defended his race leader’s jersey on a fast run-in to Zaragoza on stage 8 of the Vuelta a España, won by Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Deceuninck).

The Norwegian maintains his advantage of 2:33 over Jonas Vingegaard (Visma | Lease a Bike) in 2nd, and 2:41 over João Almeida (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) in 3rd, with one more stage before the first rest day.

Mads Pedersen (Lidl-Trek) leads the points classification, but his advantage has been reduced to 9 points over Ethan Vernon (Israel-Premier Tech).

Jay Vine (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) and Giulio Pellizzari (Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe) also continue to lead the mountains and youth classifications, respectively.
