2026 European championships road race start lists: Evenepoel eyes first title as Vollering defends crown
The women's elite road race takes place on Saturday 3, October, while the men's elite road race takes place the following day on Sunday 4, October. Here's a look at who will line up for each event.

Men's elite start list
The provisional start list features 160 riders from 33 nations.
Defending champion Tadej Pogačar will not line up after his season ending crash at the Vuelta a España, leaving Slovenia without its reigning European champion.
Belgium, Denmark, France, Italy and the Netherlands are the five nations set to start with the maximum allocation of eight riders.
There are no former winners of the elite men’s road race on the start list, with Remco Evenepoel heading into Sunday as the leading favourite to claim his first European road title.

The provisional start list features 108 riders from 29 nations.
Defending champion Demi Vollering returns to lead the Netherlands as she looks to retain the European title and cap an outstanding 2026 season.
The Dutchwoman arrives after completing the Triple Crown, having already won both the Giro d’Italia and Tour de France this year.
