25 teams will take to the start for the 2026 edition of Il Lombardia, including all 18 WorldTour teams and seven ProTeams.

The seven ProTeams include Bardiani CSF 7 Saber, Cofidis, MBH Bank CSB Telecom Fort, Pinarello-Q36.5, Polti VisitMalta, Tudor and Unibet Rose Rockets.

Tadej Pogačar, who has won the last five editions, is absent from the start list following his season-ending crash at the Vuelta a España.

Therefore, there will be only one former winner on the start list, Bauke Mollema (Lidl-Trek), who won back in 2019. The Dutchman is set to retire at the end of the 2026 season and will start a record-breaking 18th edition of Il Lombardia.

Among the contenders for victory is Remco Evenepoel (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe), who finished runner-up behind Pogačar in 2024 and 2025, and recently became European Champion last weekend.

The Belgian is set to face stiff competition from the likes of Giulio Ciccone (Lidl-Trek), Isaac del Toro (UAE Team Emirates-XRG), Tom Pidcock (Pinarello-Q36.5) and Paul Seixas (Decathlon CMA CGM).

In addition, Brandon McNulty (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) is set to feature in his first Monument as World Champion.
