Tim Merlier won stage 2 of the Baloise Belgium Tour in Knokke-Heist, beating Olav Kooij and Jasper Philipsen in the sprint. A six-rider breakaway was caught inside the final 10 km before the sprinters’ teams took control. The victory was Merlier’s sixth of the season and underlined his strong form ahead of the Tour de France.
