Stage 4’s 17.4km individual time trial is a key test for the GC contenders — with little room for error in a one-week race. A steep 2km climb at nearly 9% midway through adds a twist to an otherwise specialist-friendly course. Expect the likes of Pogačar, Vingegaard and Evenepoel to thrive, but the profile could open the door for a surprise or two. The intermediate time check comes just after the climb, where the terrain flattens towards the finish.
