There are 23 teams taking part in the 2026 Vuelta a España. All 18 UCI WorldTour teams are present, joined by five additional squads. Cofidis, Pinarello-Q36.5 and Tudor have earned selection by way of the UCI rankings, while Burgos Burpellet-BH and Equipo Kern Pharma received wildcard invitations.
Each team will line up with eight riders, bringing the start list for the Vuelta to 184 riders. Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) headlines the start list, returning to the Vuelta for the first time since 2019, when he finished third overall and won three stages.
Mads Pedersen (Lidl-Trek) lines up following a successful Tour de France in which the Dane secured the green jersey and a stage win. Pedersen will face stiff competition in the battle for green in Spain, including from Wout van Aert (Visma | Lease a Bike) who was forced to miss the Tour due to injury.
