Lorena Wiebes claimed her second stage win at the 2025 Giro d’Italia Women, outsprinting Marianne Vos and Liane Lippert on stage 5. Crosswinds split the race with 55 km to go, thanks to a move by UAE Team ADQ. A front group of 20 riders finished 1:42 ahead of the peloton, with Anna van der Breggen and Katrine Aalerud gaining significantly in the overall standings.

About Giro Women 2025 Stage 5 beforehand
Stage 5 is the flattest road stage of the Giro since 2017, with just 150 metres of elevation across 108 kilometres. Sprinters will be eyeing this as a golden opportunity, especially with a flat 16.4 km finishing circuit around Monselice. While there are no climbs to worry about, the high speeds and fight for position will make for a tense finale. Wide roads and the absence of major obstacles suggest a classic bunch sprint.
