Lorena Wiebes (SD Worx-Protime) won stage 3 of the Giro d’Italia Women after a late crash in the rain split the bunch in Trento. Only seven riders contested the sprint, with Wiebes taking victory ahead of Josie Nelson (Picnic-PostNL) and teammate Lotte Kopecky.

Stage 3 begins with a demanding 8.4 km climb up the Passo del Tonale, accounting for most of the day’s elevation gain in the opening 20 kilometres. After the summit, the route gradually descends toward Trento, with only a few rolling sections along the way. The early climb offers valuable mountain points, likely sparking a fight for the breakaway. But with no major obstacles after that, sprinters will be eyeing this stage as their first real opportunity.
