Remco Evenepoel powered to victory in the 26.1km time trial, but Tadej Pogačar limited his losses to 28 seconds and retains a 4:32 lead in the general classification. Red Bull also suffered a major setback as Florian Lipowitz abandoned the race after a heavy crash, with a suspected broken collarbone. Isaac del Toro remains third overall, but Paul Seixas has closed to within 20 seconds in the battle for the podium and the white jersey.
