Isaac del Toro took a memorable stage 2 victory at the Tour de France in Barcelona, conquering the steep Montjuïc circuit with strong support from UAE Team Emirates XRG. After crashes, mechanical issues and late attacks, UAE kept the pace high and reduced the peloton to a select group. In the final sprint, Del Toro broke clear ahead of Tadej Pogačar and Remco Evenepoel, while Jonas Vingegaard safely defended the yellow jersey.
